Cayman Islands

Web design for Cayman Islands businesses

Stryx Collective designs and builds websites for businesses in the Cayman Islands, working remotely from South Africa. It is a specialist consultancy, not a local agency, with particular experience in clinic and villa rental websites. Projects are quoted in US dollars and handled by one consultant from research through to launch and care afterwards.

What a Cayman business gets from a specialist abroad

Most Cayman businesses looking for a website start with firms on the islands. Local firms offer presence and meetings in person, and for some projects that matters most. What local options often lack is detail: a published method, depth on each service, and a clear account of how results are measured.

Stryx Collective is a web design and SEO consultancy based in Salt Rock, Ballito, South Africa. It is not based in the Cayman Islands and works remotely. This is what it offers in place of a local address:

  • A published method Every project starts with research into business goals, audience, keywords, competitors and content gaps. The process is set out on this page before any conversation takes place.
  • Depth on each service Web design, SEO and care plans each have their own page explaining what is done and why.
  • Measurement Tracking for enquiries, calls and bookings is set up at launch, so the site is judged on what it produces.
  • One person to deal with Clients work directly with Ryan Cumming, the founder, who has been building websites for 10 years.

How remote work runs with a seven-hour difference

The Cayman Islands is on UTC-5 with no daylight saving, so South Africa is 7 hours ahead all year. Stryx works Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:00 South African time, which is 1:00 to 10:00 in Cayman. Calls are arranged at a time that suits both parties.

The rest of the work does not need both sides at a desk at once. Stryx aims to respond to work requests promptly. Each site is built on a staging server, and clients follow progress in a client portal, so drafts can be reviewed at any hour.

Experience in clinics and villa rentals

Stryx has two focus industries: hospitality first, then healthcare. Both are relevant to Cayman businesses.

Stryx has connected websites to property management systems such as Guesty and Hostaway.

More detail is on the pages for medical clinic websites and villa rental websites.

Clients

Stryx works with these businesses in the Cayman Islands:

  • Novo Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic in George Town, Grand Cayman
  • Bella Rocca, a beachfront villa rental in East End, Grand Cayman
  • Botanica, boutique guest cottages on Grand Cayman
  • TitanMed, a medical device supplier in George Town, Grand Cayman

Care after launch

A website needs hosting, backups, updates and someone to call when something breaks. Stryx offers three care plans, Hosting, Premium and Pro, on a month-to-month basis. The client chooses the hosting region: the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom or South Africa. Details are on the Cayman website care plans page.

When a local firm is the better choice

A Cayman firm is the better choice for a business that wants regular face-to-face meetings. Stryx works remotely, and Ryan is open to travelling when the project and budget allow. Where a project needs photography or video shot on the islands, Stryx can source independent freelancers, such as a photographer or videographer. That work is scoped into the project and arranged for the client.

Pricing

Projects are quoted in US dollars. A quote follows an initial discussion to understand the scope of the project. Work starts once the agreement is signed and the invoice is paid.

Questions

Questions about Web design for Cayman Islands businesses

Can't see yours? Ask Ryan directly and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.

Ask on WhatsApp
Is Stryx based in the Cayman Islands?

No. Stryx Collective is based in Salt Rock, Ballito, South Africa, and works with Cayman clients remotely. Ryan is open to travelling when the project and budget allow. A business that wants regular face-to-face meetings is better served by a local firm.

Does Stryx already work with a business in the Cayman Islands?

Yes. Stryx works with four businesses on Grand Cayman: Novo Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic in George Town; Bella Rocca, a beachfront villa rental in East End; Botanica, boutique guest cottages; and TitanMed, a medical device supplier in George Town. The work is done remotely from South Africa.

How do calls work with the time difference?

South Africa is 7 hours ahead of Cayman all year. Calls are arranged at a time that suits both parties. Stryx aims to respond to work requests promptly.

What currency are Cayman projects quoted in?

US dollars. Web design projects and care plans for Cayman clients are both quoted in US dollars.

Can Stryx arrange photography or video in Cayman?

Yes. Stryx can source independent freelancers, such as a photographer or videographer, for a project. That work is scoped into the project and arranged for the client. Ryan is also open to travelling when the project and budget allow.

How long does a website take to build?

A typical website project takes about 6 to 8 weeks. Complexity, and how quickly content and feedback come back, can make it shorter or longer.

Do you only build in WordPress?

No. WordPress is the usual recommendation for sites that need custom functionality such as bookings, reservations or forms. Where another platform fits better, such as Shopify for e-commerce, Stryx recommends that.

Who owns the website when it is finished?

You do. Once the project is paid in full, the website and the visual elements created for you are yours.

How does payment work?

50% is paid up front and secures your place in the work queue. The remaining 50% is paid before launch.

Will my site rank on Google?

Every site Stryx builds can be indexed by search engines at launch. Rankings depend on many factors and no one can honestly guarantee them. Ongoing SEO is a separate service.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I rebuild my site?

Old URLs are mapped to the new structure and redirected at launch, which keeps the search visibility the old site had earned.

How do I keep track of the project?

You get a login to a client portal where you can see the stage the project is at and any tasks waiting on you.

What happens after launch?

Bugs that existed before launch are fixed at no extra charge. Hosting, backups, updates and content changes are covered by a website care plan.
