Cookie policy

This website sets only necessary cookies until you choose otherwise. Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and our visit counts use no cookies at all. This policy lists every cookie and similar technology on stryxcollective.com, what each one does, how long it lasts and how to change your choice.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device through your browser. Cookies let a site remember things between pages or visits. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same kind of job. This policy covers both.

Some cookies are set by the website you are visiting. Others are set by another company whose tool runs on the site, such as an analytics service.

The cookies this website uses

Necessary cookies

These are always on, because the website cannot work securely without them. They do not track you across other websites.

  • cc_cookie (this website): remembers your cookie choices. Lasts about six months (182 days). When you make or change a choice, we also keep a record of it on our server: the cookie's random ID, the categories you chose, the version of this policy, the date, the page and your country. The record does not include your name or IP address, and we keep it for two years so that we can show consent was given.
  • __cf_bm (Cloudflare): set when Cloudflare checks whether traffic comes from a person or an automated bot, to keep the site secure. Lasts 30 minutes.
  • cf_clearance (Cloudflare): set only if you are shown a Cloudflare security check and pass it, so that you are not asked again straight away. Lasts for the period set in our Cloudflare settings, 30 minutes by default.

Analytics cookies

These are off until you accept analytics cookies in the banner.

  • _ga (Google Analytics): tells visits apart so that we can count them. Lasts two years.
  • _ga_XXXXXXXXXX (Google Analytics, where the Xs are our Analytics ID): keeps track of the current visit. Lasts two years.

We use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. We use Google Consent Mode in its basic form: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics do not load, and no information is sent to Google, until you accept analytics or advertising cookies. Google Tag Manager itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics keeps detailed data for two months, after which only aggregated reports remain. With your consent, Google Analytics also records that one of our free tools was used, but not what you type into it.

Cookieless visit counts

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare): counts visits and measures how fast pages load, so that we know how many people use the site and whether it is quick for them. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser and does not follow you across other websites, so it runs for every visitor. It sees the page, where the visit came from, your country, and your browser and device type, and gives us only totals.

Local storage

  • stryx-utm-recent (your browser): the UTM builder's list of your recent links. It is saved only when you use the tool, stays in your browser until you clear it and is never sent to us.

Login cookies for the site owner

The content management system behind this website sets login cookies only when the site owner signs in to edit the site. Visitors never receive them.

Advertising

These are off until you accept advertising cookies in the banner.

  • _gcl_au (Google Ads): links a visit to the Google advert that led to it, so we can see which adverts bring in enquiries. Lasts 90 days.

With your consent, Google Ads measures which of our adverts lead to an enquiry and may use your visit to show our adverts to people who have visited this website. Google may also set its own cookies on Google domains for this. We do not use the Meta Pixel or any other advertising network. If you accept analytics but not advertising cookies, no advertising cookies are set and your visit is not used for advertising.

Content from other services

A page may include content from another service, which can set its own cookies when that content loads.

This website does not embed videos, maps, chat tools or booking widgets, and its fonts are hosted on our own site, so no other service sets cookies through our pages. Links to WhatsApp and email open those apps only when you click them.

Why we may set these cookies

We ask for your consent before setting analytics or advertising cookies, wherever you are. Necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot be delivered securely without them: UK and EU law exempts strictly necessary cookies from consent, and under POPIA we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. Cloudflare Web Analytics stores and reads nothing on your device, so it needs no consent; we rely on our legitimate interest in knowing how many people use the site and how well it performs.

Your choices

When you first visit, a banner asks which cookies you accept. Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you choose to allow them, and you can accept all, reject all or choose by category. The banner is shown to every visitor, wherever they are. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. If you withdraw consent, analytics or advertising measurement stops from that point.

You can also control cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you see the cookies that have been set, delete them and block them for all websites or for chosen ones. If you block necessary cookies, parts of this website may not work properly.

How we handle the personal information these cookies collect is explained in our privacy policy, and your rights under South African law are on our POPIA and PAIA page.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the cookies on this website change, and change the "Last updated" date at the top. This version takes effect on 12 October 2026.
