Stryx Collective works remotely with UK businesses from Salt Rock, Ballito, in South Africa. We design and build websites, provide SEO consulting and maintain WordPress sites on monthly care plans. South Africa is one or two hours ahead of the UK, so our working day and yours overlap almost fully.
Based in South Africa, at work when you are
We are not a web design agency in the UK. Stryx Collective is a web design and SEO consultancy based in Salt Rock, Ballito, South Africa, and we work with UK businesses remotely. You deal directly with our founder, Ryan Cumming.
Of the markets we serve outside South Africa, the UK is the closest in time. South Africa is 1 hour ahead in the UK summer and 2 hours ahead in winter, so the working day overlaps almost fully. Calls are arranged at a time that suits both of us.
Support hours in UK time
Our support hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:00 South African time. In the UK that is:
- 7:00 to 16:00 in summer (BST)
- 6:00 to 15:00 in winter (GMT)
South African public holidays are excluded, and they do not fall on the same days as UK bank holidays.
What we do for UK businesses
- Web design for UK businesses. Research comes first, the platform is chosen to fit, and you review the site on a staging server before it goes live.
- SEO consulting for UK businesses. The fundamentals of the site come first, then AI search. Results are measured on enquiries, calls and bookings.
- WordPress maintenance for UK businesses. Three care plans, Hosting, Premium and Pro, month to month with 30 days' written notice.
We also do white-label WordPress work for agencies, and we sign a non-disclosure agreement when an agency asks for one.
UK hosting and data protection
You choose the hosting region, and the United Kingdom is one of the options. The others are Europe, the United States and South Africa.
We raise data protection at the start of a project: what personal data the site will collect, where it will be stored and who is responsible for it. We give guidelines on what to have in place. We make no warranty that a site will be compliant, and you should consult your own legal counsel.

How a UK project starts
Most of our overseas clients come to us by referral. UK work is quoted in pounds. A quote follows an initial discussion, and work starts once the agreement is signed and the invoice is paid. Meetings are by video call, and Ryan is open to travelling when the project and budget allow.
