Website Care Plans
WordPress Maintenance Services
WordPress maintenance is the routine work that keeps a WordPress site secure, fast and working: updating WordPress, themes and plugins, taking off-site backups, renewing plugin licences and keeping content current. Stryx Collective does this every month as part of its Premium and Pro care plans.
What WordPress maintenance includes
- Software updates WordPress itself, your theme and every plugin.
- Off-site backups Daily on Premium, hourly on Pro, stored away from the server your site runs on and kept for 30 days.
- Monitoring Uptime monitoring, security monitoring and malware scans.
- Plugin licensing Premium plugins need paid licences to keep receiving updates. Licences Stryx already holds are included. A plugin that is specific to your site, and not one Stryx normally uses, is licensed by you.
- Security Security software on the site, and a restore from backup at no extra cost if the site is ever hacked.
- Content updates 3 hours a month on Premium and 5 hours on Pro for text, image and page changes.
- Hosting and CDN Managed WordPress hosting, with a CDN in front of it.
- DNS management Your domain records, looked after in one place.
- CRM integration Leads from your forms go straight into your CRM.
- Reporting A monthly analytics report and a quarterly strategy call.

Why it has to be regular
WordPress is made of many moving parts from different authors, and each one releases updates on its own schedule. A site that is left alone falls behind on all of them at once. Out-of-date plugins are the usual way WordPress sites get compromised, and a long-neglected site is also harder to update safely, because many changes land together.
Maintenance done monthly keeps each change small.
How updates are done safely
A full backup is always in place before anything changes, so the site can be put back if an update goes wrong. Where an update is risky, it is tested on a staging copy of the site first. Not every update needs that.
If a plugin update causes a conflict, Stryx works out the fix with you. That usually means replacing the plugin with a similar one. Up to three hours of that work is included in the plan.
What the Hosting plan does not cover
The Hosting plan is hosting, daily off-site backups and DNS management only. It does not include WordPress or plugin updates, monitoring or malware scans. If nobody else is updating your site, you need the Premium plan.
What is outside a care plan
These are quoted separately or billed by the hour:
- New pages, new features and redesigns beyond your monthly content hours
- Fixing problems caused by code or plugins that you or another provider added
- More than two restores in 30 days where the cause was user error
- Problems that come from hosting Stryx does not manage
When something goes wrong
Sites are monitored for downtime, and a site that is completely down is dealt with ahead of routine requests. You can also tell Stryx by email or WhatsApp. Support hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:00 South African time, and care plan clients are answered first.
See website care plans for how the three plans compare, or WooCommerce maintenance if your site is an online shop.

Can't see yours? Ask Ryan directly and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.
Ask on WhatsAppDoes the Hosting plan include WordPress updates?
No. The Hosting plan covers hosting, daily off-site backups and DNS management. WordPress and plugin updates are part of the Premium and Pro plans.
Where are backups kept?
Off-site, away from the server your website runs on, for 30 days. Backups run daily on Premium and hourly on Pro.
How much content work is included?
3 hours a month on Premium and 5 hours a month on Pro.
Are updates tested before they go live?
Where an update is risky, yes, on a staging copy of the site. Not every update needs it, and a full backup is always kept so the site can be restored.
Who pays for plugin licences?
Licences Stryx already holds are included in the plan. A plugin that is specific to your site and not one Stryx normally uses is licensed by you.
Is my site monitored?
Yes, on Premium and Pro. Maintenance includes uptime monitoring, security monitoring and malware scans.
Can you maintain a site you did not build?
Yes. Stryx can take over maintenance of an existing WordPress site. Sites hosted elsewhere are looked at case by case and usually cost more to manage.
