Medical practice website design in the US

Stryx Collective provides medical website design to practices and clinics in the United States, working remotely from Ballito, South Africa. Healthcare is one of its two focus industries. Stryx can build a site to meet HIPAA requirements where a practice needs it, usually at an extra cost. It makes no warranty that a site will be compliant, and the practice should consult its own legal counsel.

HIPAA and patient data are settled first

A US practice must decide, with its own legal counsel, what patient data its website will handle. That decision is made at the start of the project, before design begins.

Stryx can build a site to meet HIPAA requirements where a practice needs it. That needs additional infrastructure, so it is usually quoted at an extra cost. Stryx can give guidelines on what a practice should look for and have in place. It makes no warranty that a site will be compliant, and the practice should consult its own legal counsel. The practice confirms its own requirements, and Stryx builds the site to them. Those requirements shape which forms the site has, how appointment requests are taken and what tracking is used.

What the website is for

A practice website helps patients find the practice, understand what it treats and get in touch. Each project starts with research into the practice's goals, its patients, the searches they make and what competing practices publish.

Clinic and medical sites are mostly built on WordPress, depending on the use case and need. The practice approves clinical wording. Stryx can also research and write the copy, which the practice then verifies and signs off before it goes live.

Working with a practice from South Africa

Stryx is not based in the US. It is based in Salt Rock, Ballito, and works remotely. South Africa is 6 hours ahead of US Eastern time in summer and 7 hours ahead in winter. Calls are arranged at a time that suits both parties.

Clients

Stryx works with these healthcare clients outside the US:

  • Novo Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic in George Town, Grand Cayman
  • Prof. Ali Noorani, an orthopedic surgeon in London

Questions

Questions about Medical practice website design in the US

Can't see yours? Ask Ryan directly and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.

Ask on WhatsApp
Does Stryx build HIPAA-compliant websites?

Stryx can build a site to meet HIPAA requirements where a practice needs it. That needs additional infrastructure, so it is usually quoted at an extra cost. Stryx can give guidelines on what a practice should look for and have in place, but it makes no warranty that a site will be compliant. The practice should consult its own legal counsel.

Can the website take appointment requests?

That depends on the decision about patient data made at the start. The practice and its legal counsel decide what the website may collect, and the site is built to that decision.

Does Stryx only work with medical practices?

No. Healthcare is the second of its two focus industries. Hospitality is the first.

How long does a website take to build?

A typical website project takes about 6 to 8 weeks. Complexity, and how quickly content and feedback come back, can make it shorter or longer.

Do you only build in WordPress?

No. WordPress is the usual recommendation for sites that need custom functionality such as bookings, reservations or forms. Where another platform fits better, such as Shopify for e-commerce, Stryx recommends that.

Who owns the website when it is finished?

You do. Once the project is paid in full, the website and the visual elements created for you are yours.

How does payment work?

50% is paid up front and secures your place in the work queue. The remaining 50% is paid before launch.

Will my site rank on Google?

Every site Stryx builds can be indexed by search engines at launch. Rankings depend on many factors and no one can honestly guarantee them. Ongoing SEO is a separate service.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I rebuild my site?

Old URLs are mapped to the new structure and redirected at launch, which keeps the search visibility the old site had earned.

How do I keep track of the project?

You get a login to a client portal where you can see the stage the project is at and any tasks waiting on you.

What happens after launch?

Bugs that existed before launch are fixed at no extra charge. Hosting, backups, updates and content changes are covered by a website care plan.
