WordPress development services for US businesses
Stryx Collective is a WordPress development consultancy in Ballito, South Africa, working remotely with US businesses. It is senior-led: clients deal directly with consultant Ryan Cumming, who has built websites for 10 years. New sites are built with Bricks Builder, with custom development and integrations where the business needs them.
Senior-led, one point of contact
At Stryx the client deals directly with the consultant. Ryan Cumming is the founder and lead consultant, and a client's questions go to him, not to an account manager.

What the work covers
- New WordPress sites, built with Bricks Builder.
- Custom development where a theme or plugin will not do the job.
- Integrations with other business systems. Stryx has connected websites to property management systems such as Guesty and Hostaway. It has integrated booking systems such as Bookem with WordPress websites so clients can book online.
- Taking over an existing site. It starts with an audit of how the site has been built. The audit flags anything likely to cause problems and sets out possible solutions. A rebuild is recommended only if it is needed. A site that is built well and working well is kept.
Separately from its WordPress work, Stryx builds automations with Make.com between systems such as booking and accounting software. That is systems automation and does not involve WordPress.
Work is done on a staging server before anything goes live.
Remote, with a real time difference
Stryx is not based in the US. It is based in Salt Rock, Ballito, and works remotely. South Africa is 6 hours ahead of US Eastern time in summer and 7 hours ahead in winter. Calls are arranged at a time that suits both parties.
This suits a business that plans work ahead. It does not suit an organization that needs a team on site or cover around the clock.
Clients
Stryx works with Kalama Performance, a foilboard and paddleboard business in Hawaii.

Can't see yours? Ask Ryan directly and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.
Ask on WhatsAppWho will a US client deal with?
Ryan Cumming, the founder and lead consultant. Clients deal with him directly.
Does Stryx build integrations with other systems?
Yes. Stryx has connected websites to property management systems such as Guesty and Hostaway. It has also integrated booking systems such as Bookem with WordPress websites so clients can book online.

No. Stryx is based in Salt Rock, Ballito, in South Africa, and works remotely. South Africa is 6 or 7 hours ahead of US Eastern time.
When should I use WordPress?
When your site needs to be dynamic and carry extra functionality, such as a booking system, reservations or forms, and it needs to be easy to customise.
Is WordPress right for an online shop?
Sometimes. For some shops a dedicated platform such as Shopify is the better choice. Stryx recommends what suits your use case.
Do I own my WordPress website?
Yes. Once the project is paid in full you own the website and the visual elements created for you. WordPress itself and third-party plugins are open-source or licensed software that no client or agency owns.
Who pays for premium plugin licences?
On a care plan, licences Stryx already holds are included. A plugin that is specific to your site and not one Stryx normally uses is licensed by you.
How long does a WordPress website take?
A typical website project takes about 6 to 8 weeks, depending on complexity and how quickly content and feedback come back.
Which page builder do you use?
New WordPress sites are built with Bricks Builder. It produces light pages and keeps content editing separate from layout, so the design is hard to break by accident.
