Websites, SEO and Google Ads for hotels, lodges and luxury villas
Websites for wine estates & farm stays
We build websites for wine estates and farm stays, where one property runs several businesses at once: accommodation, a tasting room or farm shop, a restaurant, weddings and events. The site has to give each one its own clear path to book, reserve, buy or enquire, while still feeling like one place.
One farm, several businesses
A wine estate may sell tastings, cellar tours, restaurant tables, wine by the case, weddings and a few nights in a cottage. A farm stay may sell accommodation, farm experiences, produce and a venue. Each has its own customer, its own season and its own way of booking.
The usual result is a website that tells the farm's story well and makes every one of those things hard to do. We plan a wine estate or farm stay website around the actions first, then fit the story around them.

The paths we plan for
- Stay A page for each cottage or room, what is included and, for self-catering units, the practical details: kitchen equipment, braai facilities, firewood and linen. Accommodation connects to your booking system.
- Taste and tour Times, what a tasting includes, group sizes, whether to book ahead, and whether children and dogs are welcome.
- Eat Menus as text on the page, opening hours by season and a way to reserve a table.
- Celebrate Venue capacities, what is included, how many guests can sleep on the farm and an enquiry form that asks for the date and numbers.
- Buy An online shop for wine or produce where it makes sense. We choose the platform to fit, usually WooCommerce on WordPress or Shopify. Selling and delivering alcohol online has its own licensing rules, which you confirm with your own advisers.
Day visitors and overnight guests are different people, so they get different pages. Someone planning a Saturday tasting should not have to read through accommodation rates to find the opening hours.
Working farm realities
A farm is not a hotel, and the website should say so.
- Seasons change the offer Harvest, pruning, lambing and quiet months all change what a visitor can see and do. We build seasonal hours and "what is happening now" sections that you can switch yourself.
- Getting there takes explaining Rural addresses, gravel roads and patchy signal mean directions matter. We include written directions, GPS coordinates, gate times and the distance from the nearest town.
- Honest expectations Animals, early mornings, limited signal and what children can safely do. Saying this up front brings the guests who want a farm, and avoids the ones who wanted a resort.
Found by people already in the area
Many farm and estate visits are decided on the road or once visitors are in the region, with a search on a phone for a tasting or a place to stay nearby. According to Google's Business Profile help, local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. An accurate Google Business Profile, with the right categories, seasonal hours and photographs, matters as much as the website.
We give each activity its own page so it can be found for its own searches, and look after the profile as part of local SEO.
How we build it
We usually build these sites on WordPress with Bricks Builder, because they need bookings, forms and frequent content changes. Forms route to the person who answers them, so a wedding enquiry reaches the events manager and a cottage enquiry reaches reservations. We design desktop-down and build each layout to rescale to every screen size, with photo-heavy pages kept quick on phones.
Every project starts with research into your visitors and the searches they make. Read more about our web design and development service.
Who we work with
We work with Karoo One, a hotel and farm stay in De Doorns.
If you run a lodge or guest house without the farm, see lodge and guest house website design. Our hospitality overview covers SEO and Google Ads as well. To talk about your estate or farm, get in touch.

Questions
Questions about Websites for wine estates & farm stays
Can't see yours? Ask Ryan directly and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.
Ask on WhatsAppCan one website handle accommodation, tastings, a restaurant and weddings?
Yes, and it usually should. One site with a clear section for each keeps the estate's name and reputation in one place. Each section gets its own pages and its own way to book, reserve or enquire, and each form goes to the person who handles it.
Can we sell wine or farm produce through the same site?
Yes. We can add an online shop to the site or connect a separate one, depending on what you sell and how you deliver. Selling and delivering alcohol online has its own licensing rules, which you confirm with your own advisers.
Our hours and offers change with the season. Can we update them ourselves?
Yes. We build seasonal hours, specials and notices so you can change them without a developer. We also keep your Google Business Profile hours in mind, because visitors often check those first.
We are a long way from a city. Does that matter?
No. We are based in Salt Rock, Ballito, and work remotely with clients across South Africa and abroad. We are open to travel when the project and budget allow, and we work with independent photographers where a project needs them.
