Healthcare websites, SEO and Google Ads for clinics, specialists and health brands
Medical Tourism Websites
Medical tourism website design has to cover what a local patient never needs: travel, length of stay, aftercare once home and a contact person in another time zone. We design websites for clinics and hospitals that treat international patients, with those answers built into every treatment page and the enquiry process.
What an international patient needs before enquiring
A patient who lives nearby can visit, ask questions and come back. A patient in another country decides from the website and a few messages. That puts more weight on the site than any local practice site carries, and it changes what each page must contain.
- A travel layer on every treatment page. What can be assessed remotely before travel, how many days the patient needs to be in the destination, what follow-up happens once they are home. The clinical parts, such as when a patient may travel after a procedure, are written or signed off by the treating clinician.
- Who will treat them. Each clinician's qualifications and registration body, and any facility accreditation, stated as facts a patient can verify.
- How a quote works. Not a price list, but the process: what information you need, what an estimate includes and excludes, and how payment is handled.
- Travel and stay. The nearest airport, getting to the facility, accommodation nearby and whether a companion can stay. For entry requirements we link to the official government source and do not restate it, because it changes.
- A named point of contact. Who answers, in which languages, during which hours and in which time zone.

Enquiries across time zones
An international enquiry often arrives while your team is asleep. We set up forms that capture the patient's country, preferred contact method and a suitable time to talk, with an automatic acknowledgement that states your working hours and time zone. WhatsApp and video consultation links sit beside the form.
Forms ask for the minimum. Medical records should travel through a system built for them, not through a website contact form or ordinary email. Where your patient management or CRM system offers an API or another established way to connect, we can pass enquiries into it.
Being found from another country
A site that ranks at home does not automatically appear for a patient searching from abroad. This is international SEO, and it involves decisions a local practice never faces:
- Whether each source market needs its own pages. It does when the content differs, for example flight routes, currency or insurer arrangements.
- Language and regional versions. Google uses hreflang annotations to work out which language or regional version of a page to show a searcher, so those need to be set up correctly.
- Translation. Translated clinical pages need a clinical reviewer in that language. We do not publish machine-translated treatment content.
Patients also ask AI tools where to go for treatment. We get the core SEO right first, then add short summaries and questions and answers to key pages.
Advertising across borders
Google's healthcare and medicines policy sets different rules for different countries, and what applies depends on the location an ad targets. A clinic in one country advertising to patients in another has to meet the rules for the country it targets. Google also does not allow ads for speculative or experimental medical treatments, and allows cell and gene therapy ads only under a narrow United States exception. The clinician's own professional body adds its own advertising rules on top.
Privacy in more than one jurisdiction
Treating patients from several countries can bring several privacy regimes into play, such as GDPR for patients in the UK and Europe. In the United States, HIPAA applies to covered entities and their business associates. Whether and how these apply to your facility is a question for your own legal counsel.
We can build to HIPAA requirements where they are needed, usually at extra cost because of the added infrastructure. On our care plans you choose the hosting region: United States, Europe, United Kingdom or South Africa.
This page is general information, not legal advice. We give guidelines only and make no warranty that a website will be compliant.
Where our hospitality work helps
Travelling for treatment is partly a travel decision. The patient is choosing a destination, a place to stay and a journey as well as a clinician. Hospitality is our first focus industry, and the same skills apply here: clear information about getting there and staying, good photography and an enquiry process that works across time zones. See our hospitality overview.
We work with healthcare clients in South Africa, the Cayman Islands and the UK, including Novo Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic in George Town, Grand Cayman.

Questions about Medical Tourism Websites
Can't see yours? Ask Ryan directly and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.
Ask on WhatsAppWhat should a medical tourism website include?
Beyond a normal clinic site: how long a patient needs to stay for each treatment, what can be assessed before travel, aftercare once home, how quotes work, travel and accommodation information, clinician credentials a patient can verify and a named contact with stated hours and time zone.
Do we need separate pages for each country we attract patients from?
Only where the content differs, such as travel routes, currency or insurer arrangements. Where it does, each version needs correct hreflang annotations so Google can show the right one to each searcher.
Can you translate our website for international patients?
We can build and structure language versions. Translated clinical content needs to be reviewed by a clinician who reads that language before it goes live, and we do not publish machine-translated treatment pages.
Can we run Google Ads to patients in other countries?
Often yes, but Google's healthcare policy differs by country and what applies depends on the location the ad targets. Some content, such as experimental treatments, cannot be advertised. We check the rules for each target country before a campaign is built.
Does HIPAA or GDPR apply to a clinic outside the US or Europe?
That is a legal question for your own counsel. We give guidelines, and we can build to HIPAA requirements where they are needed, usually at extra cost because of the added infrastructure.
